Who is Interstate Fire & Safety?

    Interstate Fire & Safety Equipment Company Inc. has been serving the public and the fire protection industry since 1951. As a family owned and operated business started by Joseph Bucci, Interstate Fire & Safety has grown from a single person fire extinguisher oriented company, to a full service fire protection company with a fully trained staff serving several states on the East Coast. William Barnes Jr. - President since 1971 - attributes the company's success on customer service, a strong focus on safety and a dedicated, qualified group of employees.    
   Joseph Bucci established Interstate Fire & Safety in 1951. During that time as a fire extinguisher oriented company, Interstate Fire & Safety served the Fairfield, Westchester, and New York areas. Joseph Bucci was also active in the fire service and dedicated his time to the community in which he lived. Mr. Bucci started the foundation of what today is a successful organization.

    William Barnes Jr. took over operation of the company in 1971. As the dynamics of the fire protection industry demanded change and education, Interstate Fire & Safety met the demand and requirements.

    William Barnes Jr. holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Administration, Master's Degree in Executive Fire Officer Leadership, is a Graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program, Certified Code Enforcement Officer, Certified Exhaust System Specialist and a licensed fire protection contractor in the State of Connecticut, State of New Jersey, State of Massachusetts, State of Rhode Island, Nassau County, NY and New York City.
